A sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are among the most commonly spread diseases in the United States. They are spread during sex — vaginal, oral, or anal. The four major STDs are syphilis, gonorrhea, genital herpes, and AIDS. Some of these infections are life threatening, other are predispose to malignancy, and other destroy fertility. Unfortunately people often do not know they are infected with STDs because they do not have or do not recognize symptoms.
