Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) refers to the assessment and support of pulmonary and circulatory function in the critically ill infant or child. Health-care professiona who works directly with children in the healthcare field should have Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Nurses, pediatricians, physicians and other medical professional must complete the PALS course and pass the exam to be certified in PALS.
The PALS course is available by attending class or online. PALS course and certification online can be a good option for health care professionals who have a busy schedule so they can complete PALS certification from their office or home computer. After you pass the exam with a score of 80% or higher you will get PALS certification card printed with your name and expiration date. PALS certification expires two years from the date you pass the exam. If your PALS certification expired you need take recertification exam to get new PALS certification.
